Sustainable Livelihood Program

Sustainable-Livelihood-Program-DBDOC

DBDOC is widening livelihood options, as one of the key adopted strategies, both farm and non-farm sectors for reducing poverty in the remote underdeveloped tribal pockets of West Bengal. Tribal people earn a meagre daily wage, which is not enough to meet all their basic needs apart from food and shelter.

To address the livelihoods challenges of marginalized people in tribal region and to bring positive change in their lives, DBDOC engaged in promoting supplementary livelihood programs for the poor and marginalized, especially for the rural tribal communities.  DBDOC provides knowledge, training and initial start-up capital in order to enable and empower the people to develop a sustainable alternate livelihood. The various projects under the livelihood programs are goatery, piggery, poultry, tailoring, beautician, E-rickshaw driving, etc.
