Solar Power

Solar-Power - dbdoc

India is one of the most energy hungry developing countries in the world. The rural India suffers from severe electricity shortages and is often only on the power grid for a few hours per day. With such inconsistent access to power, children often do not have the light required to study properly and patients have been suffering from proper treatment due to interrupted power supply.

DBDOC under this Going Green initiative has started reducing its dependence on more conventional sources of power and electricity. In an effort to reduce carbon emissions by increasing the use of renewable energy, the rural schools, boarding centers and a rural health center have installed rooftop solar panels for meeting their electricity requirements.  These units have not only reduced our dependence on conventional electrical power but also cut down on costs making our projects and interventions more financially sustainable. Through this step, DBDOC is aiming to achieve the twin goals of lowering power expenses and set a strong example of sustainable living for the students.
