India has its largest ever adolescent and youth population and will continue to have one of the youngest populations in the world till 2030. India is experiencing a demographic window of opportunity, a “youth bulge” that will last till 2025. India’s youth face several development challenges, including access to education and gainful employment.
To address this need, Don Bosco institutions in the Kolkata province developed state-of-the-art infrastructures to educate and empower underprivileged youth through skill training. DBDOC’s various initiatives stemmed from its founder, Don Bosco’s strong determination to uplift the underprivileged youth and create a livelihood path for them. To achieve this mission, DBDOC makes effort to create an equitable society where all the youth-at-risk are enabled with work-oriented education and training that prepares them for jobs, self-employment or entrepreneurship.
