Welcome to Don Bosco Development Society
What we do > Tribal Development
More than poverty, more than starvation, more than natural calamities, it is improper sanitation facilities or their absence, which have contributed to the high degree of infant mortality and poor health in India. Hygiene, for most of the Indians, is confined to the boundaries of their surroundings.
Because of the severe negative impact on health and civic systems, the DBDOC has established robust interventions to address challenges concerning inadequate sanitation facilities. DBDOC has been engaged in implementing WASH programs in all of our schools located in the remote tribal areas. The majority of the tribal people are unaware of about the concept of proper sanitation and safe drinking water. Under the program, DBDOC have dug deep tube wells and installed large filters to provide clean and safe drinking water to the children. Handwashing stations and proper bathrooms for the both and girls were constructed to provide them a safe, secure and hygienic environment. Besides that DBDOC makes an effort sensitize the children regularly about the importance of maintaining good hygienic practices thus enabling them to become advocates of change among the communities from which they belong.
