Medical camps in 30 remote tribal villages
Don Bosco HRD Mission in Dhobasole of Paschim Medinipur District in West Bengal is a unit of the Salesian Province of Kolkata. For the past five years the community has started many developmental activities in 30 tribal villages like coaching centres for students, health camps, computer training, etc.
The tribal people in this area are socially and economically very backward. They are share croppers and mostly uneducated. This rural tribal populations do not have access to safe and reliable healthcare. They are prone to various sicknesses and medical facilities are very negligible and far way. Medical intervention is the immediate need of the people. DBDOC intends to bring medical assistance to these under-resourced populations through medical camps. Our target is to reach out 30 villages with coverage of a minimum of 100 people in each village, men and women and children. Under this project, DBDOC will identify the people with life threatening sicknesses in 30 villages. After identification, two health camps will be organised in each village to provide treatment to 3000 people with various ailments.
