On Earth Day, Don Bosco Samthar observed the occasion with a focus on the theme “Planet Vs Plastic,” engaging Bosconians in meaningful activities. Fr. Savio enlightened them on the origins of Earth Day during the morning assembly. Each student participated by bringing plants and flowers to symbolize their commitment. A succinct program unfolded, initiated by a graceful introduction from Eliya Lepcha, the school captain, followed by a moving poem celebrating trees. Bosconians presented a short play illustrating the contrast between a thriving and deteriorating Earth, urging everyone to prioritize environmental preservation by reducing plastic consumption and pollution. The Bosconian choir stirred emotions with heartfelt renditions of “Heal the World” and other melodies. In the afternoon, drawing competitions and tree-planting activities deepened participants’ connection to nature.
