Solar Energy Project

In January, Chhotkei in Orissa became India’s first smart village powered by the Smart NanoGrid technology developed by his company SunMoksha. Power is provided by a 30KW solar plant and meters and sensors collect data on energy usage and system health.
The Solar Village Initiative aims to provide clean, reliable and affordable electricity to 100 villages. It uses village-level solar energy generation as a lever for sustainable and inclusive village level development in a manner that improves the quality of life of rural communities.
