Modern Tools and Equipment for Farm Field School
DBDOC is imparting agricultural training to tribal youth in Farm Field School to make them skilful enough to become self –employed. The Farm Field School located at Azimganj not only trains the youth to become an agripreneur but provides food to the hostellers in the Rural School and Boarding Center. The centre houses to 340 tribal boys and 365 tribal girls for their study. The trainees of Farm Field School are producing rice, wheat and also seasonal vegetable like potatoes, cabbages, Cauliflower, green peas, tomatoes, lentils and leafy plants, bananas, etc. But the trainees are using the obsolete equipment and tools for their training and cultivation. Like in any industry, mechanization of agriculture is changing rapidly. Now it is time to equip them with modern tools and equipment which will enable the children to children to be trained to use machinery and improved agricultural implements for cultivation rather than the traditional methods of ploughing with bullocks, soil preparation, etc. We require modern means of cultivation, tilling the land at the proper time, good seeds, organic manure and some implements.
