International Day of Women and Girl-child in Science holds great significance in promoting gender equality and inclusion in fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Celebrating this day serves as a reminder of the valuable contributions made by women and girls in science and technology and highlights the need for diversity in these fields.
At DBDOC, we understand the critical importance of empowering marginalized girls in science and education. Hence, we celebrate this day by organizing a Science Fair. Our girls have displayed impressive skills and knowledge, through the experiments and projects, which covered a wide range of topics including, the components of food, impact of ecosystems, greenhouse effects, volcanic eruptions, density of liquids, straight-line propagation of light, soil profiles, and water dispensing. This Science Fair has provided these children with practical exposure and an opportunity to creatively express their ideas and knowledge.
It is crucial to emphasize the significance of women and girls in science & education especially among marginalized communities. By promoting gender equality in science, we can unlock the potential of these young girls to bring about positive change and innovation that can benefit their communities and society as a whole.
